We take a bottom-line approach to each project. Our clients consistently see increased traffic, enhanced brand loyalty and new leads thanks to our work.
The Phased Array technique is characterized by the ability to electronically control the main parameters of an ultrasonic beam: angle and focusing. It allows to avoid the probe mechanical motion in the direction orthogonal to the welding; this scanning is replaced by a sectoral or fixed angle electronic scanning, so that the inspection time is reduced. The width of the electronic scanning depends on the number of the transducer elements, while the image quality is improved in comparison with conventional probes thanks to the possibility of implementing a dynamic focusing of the beam and a consequent increase of the resolution.
Through the use of scanners and encoders, it is possible to register the results and semi-automate the test, with considerable advantages in terms of the interpretation of results and the availability of a permanent report. The equipment is, however, expensive.
For PA testing Metalprove S.r.l. uses the best technology (OLYMPUS OmniScan, OLYMPUS ChainSCANNER, OLYMPUS probes and wedges, etc.), and demonstrates full ability to apply the method specifications (ASME Sec. V, ASME Sec. VIII, Code Case 2235, 2557, 2600, EN ISO 13588, etc.).
